The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
On rare occasions, the J44226-3A Flywheel Holding Tool may not stay engaged with a torque converter bolt while torquing the crankshaft balancer bolt If this occurs, it may be due to excessive weld material where the socket and flat bar mate, preventing
the tool from fully engaging with the torque converter bolt.
Recommendation/Instructions:
If this occurs, inspect the tool for excessive weld material as shown below. If present, use a grinder to remove the excessive material as necessary.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
