EI08023 - Paint Peeling on Front and Rear Fascias/Bumpers - Non-GM Warranty Repair

This bulletin is being revised to end the need for diagnostic information and provide feedback. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 08-08-62-001 (Section 08 -- Body and Accessories).

Based on feedback and parts returned from dealers, it was determined the fascias that were peeling had been damaged and re-painted outside of General Motors by an unknown source. It was also noticed that the fascias were re-painted on top of the original paint surface. The fascias that were repaired have one paint coat on them. Also, the substrate was not properly prepped with primer or adpro, which ultimately caused the paint from the outside source to peel.

Because the fascia was damaged and repainted improperly by an outside source, General Motors is not responsible for this repair.

If a front and/or rear fascia is found to be peeling due to an improper previous repair, the claim WILL be debited.
