The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
A dim SES light may be noted with the ignition key in the accessory position. This is typically noticed by dealership personnel while the vehicle is at the dealer for an unrelated concern. They should also notice that the light is bright in the key on,
engine off position.
Recommendation/Instructions:
If the SES light can be commanded on and off in key on, engine off position with the Tech II and a P0650 (MIL control circuit) is not stored, no repairs should be attempted. This is a normal condition.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
