The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
The purpose of the information below is to help avoid confusion. Prior to performing repairs on a vehicle, it is important to know what features the vehicle is equipped with. Below are three common options that cause confusion. This will help prevent unnecessary
repairs to a vehicle that is not equipped with the specific option or feature. Please review the information below to make sure the vehicle in question has the feature(s) that has been requested to be repaired.
Recommendation/Instructions:
RKE, Programmable Locking/Unlock and Content Theft Optional and Standard Equipment:
• | AU3 = Programmable Automatic Door Locks

• | Buick: AU3, AU0 and UA6 are all standard equipment. These RPOs may or may not be listed on the option label. |
• | Chevrolet: 1SA and 1SB option builds must list AUO, AU3 or UA6 to have any one of the options. With out the RPO code, this feature does not exist on the 1SA or 1SB option group. AU3, AU0 and UA6 are standard on 1SD, 1SE 1SF and 1SJ packages. For
the 1SD, 1SE 1SF and 1SJ option groups, the RPOs above may or may not be listed on the option label. |
• | GMC: AU3 and AU0 is standard equipment. UA6 is NOT available on 1SA, optional feature on 1SB or 1SC and standard equipment on 1SD package. The 1SB and 1SC option groups must have RPO UA6 listed on the option label. The 1SD option group may or may
not list the UA6 RPO. |
• | Oldsmobile: AU3, AU0 and UA6 are all standard equipment. These RPOs may or may not be listed on the option label. |
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
