Info - Windshield Wiper Motor Module Assemblies - Serviceable Components

This bulletin is being revised to include the 2006 model year and correct part information. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 04-08-43-005B (Section 08 -- Body and Accessories).

Important: Verify that the metal can of the wiper motor assembly is silver. This bulletin only applies to wiper motors with a silver can. If the wiper motor has a black can, disregard this bulletin.

If diagnostic procedures (SI Document ID #872146) followed in SI lead to the replacement of the wiper motor assembly, please be advised that the wiper motor cover (circuit board) is a serviceable component. Replace the wiper motor cover following the service procedure found in SI Document ID #1250321.

Important:  Bulletin 04-08-43-005A had the part number descriptions reversed. It may be possible that previously repaired vehicles, equipped with Rain Sense, received the wrong cover and the Rain Sense feature will not function with P/N 88958308. If a vehicle is equipped with the Rain Sense option and was previously repaired using the non-rain sense cover, the dealer should correct this concern by replacing the wiper motor cover with P/N 88958307 and submitting the repair to warranty.
