This PI being updated to include 07 for H2 Hummer. Please discard PIT3849.
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may ask how to update or view the date on a UM8 navigation radio.
Recommendation/Instructions:
The date can be displayed on a Navigation Radio (RPO UM8) by turning the radio on and touching the touch screen clock.
If the battery is disconnected or the radio has been replaced, the date will be automatically updated as soon as the vehicle gets a valid GPS signal. This will occur even if the GPS update parameter is in the "OFF" position.
Note: The vehicle has a valid GPS signal when there is no GPS icon on the navigation screen. The vehicle will have a GPS icon on the left side of the screen in red letters when the vehicle doesn't have a GPS signal.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
