The following is a revised procedure for servicing the power steering gear inlet (pressure) hose on 1986 through 1988 Rivieras (Section 3BI)
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Serpentine drive belt.
3. Inlet hose at pump.
4. Raise vehicle, see section OA of Chassis Service Manual.
5. Heat shield.
6. Hose retainer.
7. Inlet hose at gear.
8. Hose from vehicle.
1. Hose into vehicle.
2. Inlet hose at gear-tighten to 27 N m (20 ft.lbs).
3. Hose retainer.
4. Heat shield.
5. Lower vehicle.
6. Inlet hose at pump-tighten to 27 N m (20 ft.lbs).
7. Serpentine belt.
8. Fill with fluid.
9. Negative battery cable.
10. Bleed power steering system (use latest bleed procedure per bulletin),
11. Inspect for leaks.

This revised procedure should be followed whenever it is necessary to service the power steering gear inlet (pressure) hose.
