SERVICE GUILD: BROKEN VALVE SPRING CAPS REP. ALL WITH P/N

MODELS AFFECTED: SOME 1988 LESABRES, ELECTRAS, AND RIVIERAS EQUIPPED WITH 3800 (VIN CODE C) V6 ENGINES

Beginning January 25, 1988, increased strength valve spring caps were released into production for the 3800 engine. All 3800 engines built after the following breakpoints were assembled with the new valve spring caps. Refer to Figure 1.

If broken valve spring caps are encountered on an engine assembled prior to the breakpoints, replace all valve spring caps with Part Number 25534605 (12 per engine), available from GMSPO.
