REAR BRAKE WHEEL CYLINDER ROTATION SUP.'A'

Models: 1978-79-80 A, A spl, G, 1982 'S' Trucks

TO INSURE THE REAR BRAKE WHEEL CYLINDER BRACKET IS PROPERLY INSTALLED, THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS TO BE USED WHEN INSTALLING RETAINER KIT. REFER TO THE SERVICE PROCEDURE OF BULLETIN 5A15 RELEASED IN SEPTEMBER.

After the bracket has been installed, inspect to make sure that the bracket fingers grasp the wheel cylinder, as shown in illustration. If fingers do not grasp the cylinder, remove the bracket and repeat steps 2, 3, and 4 of the Service Procedure.

Models: 1978-79-80 Malibu, Monte Carlo, El Camino, Lemans, Grand LeMans, Grand Prix, Cutlass, Cutlass Supreme, Century, Regal, Caballero and some 1982 S Trucks

In the event that a backing plate and wheel cylinder are required for vehicles involved in this recall, the following part nos. should be used:

78-80 Munte Carlo, Malibu, El Camino Assembly LH 18013045 LeMans, Grand Prix, Cutlass Backing Plate RH 18013046 Century, Regal, GMC Caballero & wheel cyl. Retaining Kit 18013604 1982 S Truck Assembly LH 18013047 Backing Plate RH 18013048 & wheel cyl. Retainer Kit 18013604

An amount of $14.00 will be included in 3A and $15.50 in 4A to allow for differential oil, gasket, axle seals and brake fluid. The usual .1 for administration is also included. Parts credit will be dealer net + 30%.

Normal maintenance items such as worn brake linings and parking brake cables found during the campaign that require replacement will be at the customer's expense. Customer must be contacted and their consent obtained prior to replacement of parts not covered by the campaign.
