DIESEL GOVERNOR WEIGHT RETAINER PIN WEAR

DIESEL GOVERNOR WEIGHT RETAINER PIN WEAR WHILE MAKING A GOVERNOR WEIGHTRETAINER RING REPAIR THE RETAINER PIN SHOULD BE INSPECTED FOR DAMAGE. IF THE PIN IS BENT LOOSE OR EXCESSIVELY WORN, CHANGE THE RETAINER. THE POINT AT WHICH THE PIN IS EXCESSIVELY WORN IS WHEN THE PIN IS WORN IN EXCESS OF HALF THE SMALLER DIAMETER AS SHOWN IN FIG. 2. REMEMBER TO REMOVE ANY SHARP EDGES THAT MAY CUT THE RETAINER RING. DIESEL GOVERNOR WEIGHT RETAINER PIN WEAR WHEN MAKING A GOVERNOR WEIGHT RETAINER RING REPAIR, THE RETAINER PIN SHOULD BE INSPECTED FOR DAMAGE. IF THE PIN IS BENT, LOOSE OR EXCESSIVELY WORN, REPLACE THE RETAINER. THE POINT AT WHICH THE PIN IS EXCESSIVELY WORN IS WHEN THE PIN IS IN EXCESS OF HALF THE SMALLER DIAMETER AS SHOWN IN FIG. 9. IF THE PIN IS NOT WORN IN EXCESS OF HALF THE DISTANCE(FIG.9)USE A .038 FEELER GAGE TO BE SURE THE GROOVE IN THE PIN IS WITHIN THE DIMENSION. IF IT IS NOT WITHIN THE PROPER DIMENSION, AN IGNITION POINT FILE CAN BE USED TO OBTAIN THE PROPER DIMENSION. ANY SHARP EDGES MUST BE REMOVED TO PREVENT CUTTING, OR WHICH MIGHT PREVENT THE RETAINER RING FROM SEATING IN THE BOTTOM OF THE GROOVE. WHEN INSTALLING THE RETAINER RING, BE SURE THE RING SEATS IN THE BOTTOM OF THE GROOVE.
