DEALER NEW VEHICLE STORAGE FACILITIES

As the spring season grows closer, the possibility of flooding in certain geographic areas should be considered. Consequently, all Buick dealers are reminded to review arrangements for storing new vehicles in locations where they will be safe from flood damage. Obviously, a plan of prevention is a better solution to flood exposure than any procedure applicable to the after effects. Planning for such emergency can often substantially reduce the number of flood-exposed vehicles and the extent of any such exposure.

A number of states currently have statutes or other dealer obligations regarding the sale of vehicles involved in floods. In light of these statutes and regulations, we strongly recommend you take immediate precautionary measures to guard against flood damage to new units.

Should a flood occur which affects new vehicles in your inventory, contact your zone office immediately for assistance.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
