When it becomes necessary to replace power antenna relays with part numbers 1256819, 1258686, 1264936, 1615885 or 10028531, a power antenna relay kit, part no. 22524833 should be used. This kit contains a mini relay, part no. 10030273, an adapter harness, and one four-way connector body. The relay kit replaces the original metal covered relays used an the following vehicles:
1979-84 Riviera 1978-84 Regal, LeSabre & Electra 1980-84 Skylark
Install the relay kit as follows:
1. Remove the failed relay.
2. Remove the staggered 3-way connector body from the power antenna wiring by releasing the secondary terminal locks and remove three (3) terminals and wires from the connector.
3. Install the above terminals into the four-way connector body, part no. 8917542 (furnished with the jumper harness) as follows :
Cavity A - Dk. Green Cavity B - Gray Cavity C - White Cavity D - Blank
Close the secondary lock latch and inspect for proper terminal engagement.
4. Plug one end of the jumper harness into the new relay, part no. 10030273 (2 connectors). Plug the other end onto the IP harness and the converted power antenna lead.
5. Tape relay to IP harness in a horizontal or terminal down position so that it is rattle free.
6. Check power antenna operation.
