HOOD ALIGNMENT REPAIR PROCEDURE

VEHICLES AFFECTED: All With Aluminum Hoods

Should you encounter a condition where an aluminum hood is bowed and cannot be adjusted to fit the fenders, the following procedure may be of some assistance.

Using the tool in Fig. 1, carefully work the side of the hood down for approximately two (2) feet in the high crown area on each side of the hood until the hood line matches the fender line.

The tool Can be made as shown by welding two (2) pieces of 3 in. X 3/8 in. diameter rod stock to the pliers.

A pair of welding clamp pliers may also be used as a substitute tool.
