LOOSE DOOR TRIM AT BELT RETAINER

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1988-89 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX

Some 1988-89 Pontiac Grand Prix models may have upper door trim panels that become disengaged from the belt retainer. Improved retention may be accomplished by the addition of two retaining clips, P/N 10143500. Two clips are required for each door.

Procedure:

1. Open door and lower glass completely.

2. With trim loose from belt retainer position clips over edge of trim with barbs engaging under side of cloth trim.

3. Clips should be positioned on the upper door trim pad at belt line as shown on attached Illustration.

4. Insert trim into upper belt line retainer. Apply hand pressure at clip locations until they snap in place.

Use most applicable Labour Operation and time from the Canadian Labour Time Guide.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
