Owners of these models may experience a noise coming from the rear of the vehicle while it is in motion. This may be caused by the rear brake cable rubbing on the wheel/wheel weight on 1988 Buick and Pontiac W-cars.
This condition was eliminated in production effective with the VINs indicated below:

Pontiac - Fairfax #239650
If this condition is commented on a vehicle prior to these VINs, it may be repaired by replacing the appropriate rear park brake cable with the new cable listed below:
