FUEL TANK "OIL CANNING" NOISE

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1988 BUICK "W" CARS ----------------- Some 1988 "W" cars assembled between VIN breakpoints indicated below, may exhibit a "oil canning" noise condition coming from the rear of the vehicle.

Buick VIN Breakpoint - 1403000 through 1406886

This condition is the result of these vehicles having been assembled with fuel tank sender assemblies which did not include a vacuum relief feature.

Vehicles exhibiting this condition may be repaired by replacement of the existing fuel tank sender with that which is contained in service kit, P/N 25093548 and following applicable shop manual procedures.
