DOOR PAINT RUBS OFF AT TOP DOOR MAY STRIKE PILLAR

VEHICLES AFFECTED: 1989-1988 CUTLASS SUPREME

Customer comments have been received of paint rubbing off the inner top portion of the door where it may come in contact with the body lock pillar applique on some 1988-1989 Cutlass Supreme models.

The following procedure may be used to repair this condition:

1. Remove the courtesy lamp fuse, No. 14, in the I/P fuse block.

2. Remove body lock pillar applique (3 screws).

3. Colour coat applique and door if damaged.

4. Remove (5) rear screws on door upper auxiliary roof rail weatherstrip moulding.

5. Install body lock pillar applique (3 screws).

6. Install door upper auxiliary roof rail weatherstrip over body lock pillar applique (3) screws.

7. Tuck door upper auxiliary rail weatherstrip moulding end into body lock pillar applique.

8. Check for clearance with clay.

9. Repeat Steps 2-8 on other side.

10. Install the courtesy lamp fuse.

Warranty Information

Use the applicable labour time and claim 0.3 hrs.

Add : To Colour Coat .2 hrs.
