MANUAL UPDATE SEC. 6A OIL FILTER ADAPTER

MODELS AFFECTED: 1990 REGAL WITH 3.1L ENGINE (VIN CODE T)

SERVICE MANUAL UPDATE

Use this procedure when servicing the oil filter adapter on the following vehicles. Please update your Regal manual accordingly.

Oil Filter Adapter

Remove or Disconnect

- Raise vehicle and suitably support; refer to GENERAL INFORMATION (SECTION OA).

1. Oil filter 2. Connector 3. Adapter and gasket

Clean

- Oil filter adapter and engine block mating surface.

Install or Connect

1. Gasket 2. Adapter 3. Connector

- Tighten - Connector to 67 N.m (50 lb. ft.)

4. Oil filter

- Lower vehicle - Check oil level and fill to proper level if necessary. Refer to MAINTENANCE AND LUBRICATION (SECTION OB).
