SUBJECT: ENGINE MAY EXPERIENCE COLD START STALL

MODELS AFFECTED: 1990-92 REGAL WITH 3800 T.P.I. (CODE L) 1991-92 PARK AVENUE/ULTRA WITH 3800 T.P.I.(CODE L) 1991-92 RIVIERA/REATTA WITH 3800 T.P.I. (CODE L) 1992 LESABRE WITH 3800 T.P.I. (CODE L)

Some 1990-92 Regals, 1991-92 Park Avenue/Ultra, Riviera/Reatta and 1992 LeSabre models equipped with 3800 T.P.I. engines (Code L), may experience a condition described as engine does not stay running on initial cold start.

This calibration was a running change for the 1992 model year. Be sure to check MEM-CAL Scanner I.D. as the vehicle may already have this calibration.

If this condition is experienced and cannot be repaired by using currently published service diagnostic procedures, it may be necessary to install a new service MEM-CAL after basic engine controls and systems performance have been verified.
