THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS TO BE ADDED TO SECTION 5B2 OF THE SERVICE MANUAL.
PROCEDURE
CALIPER MOUNTING BRACKET
THE PREVAILING TORQUE BOLTS WHICH ATTACH CALIPER SUPPORT (MOUNTING BRACKET) TO KNUCKLES MUST BE REPLACED ANYTIME THEY BECOME LOOSE OR ARE REMOVED. IN THIS APPLICATION, TIGHTENING OR LOOSENING THESE SPECIAL PREVAILING TORQUE BOLTS, WHICH USE AN ENCAPSULATED THREAD COMPOUND, IS NOT RECOMMENDED. FAILURE TO REPLACE CALIPER SUPPORT (MOUNTING BRACKET) BOLTS AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN LOOSENED OR REMOVED MAY RESULT IN LOOSENING OF CALIPER TO KNUCKLE ATTACHMENT, CAUSING REDUCED VEHICLE BRAKING ABILITY, AND MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY.
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. CALIPER. REFER TO "CALIPER" IN THIS SECTION. 2. CALIPER MOUNTING BRACKET BOLTS. 3. MOUNTING BRACKET.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. BRACKET WITH CALIPER MOUNTING BRACKET BOLTS.
TIGHTEN
* CALIPER MOUNTING BRACKET BOLTS TO 110 N.M (81 LB FT).
2. CALIPER. REFER TO "CALIPER" IN THIS SECTION.
