---------------------------------------------------------------------- INFORMATION ----------------------------------------------------------------------

SUBJECT: DIAGNOSTIC INFORMATION FOR INTERMITTENT WINDSHIELD WASHER/ WIPER FUNCTIONS WHEN SIGNALING FOR RIGHT TURNS AND/OR HITTING BUMPS (REPLACE SWITCH ASSEMBLY)

MODELS: 1994 BUICK REGAL 1995 CHEVROLET LUMINA, MONTE CARLO 1994 OLDSMOBILE CUTLASS SUPREME 1994 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX

THE CUSTOMER MAY COMMENT THAT THE WINDSHIELD WASHER/WIPER WILL WORK INTERMITTENTLY WHEN SIGNALING FOR A RIGHT HAND TURN, OR WHEN HITTING BUMPS. NORMAL DIAGNOSIS MAY NOT LEAD TO THE PROPER CORRECTION.

IN RARE INSTANCES, THE WASHER/WIPER POWER FEED WIRE MAY BE SEPARATED DUE TO STRAIN ON THE SWITCH. THE WIRE RESTRAINT MAY PLACE STRESS ON THE POWER FEED WIRE, CAUSING THE WIRE TO SEPARATE (SEE ILLUSTRATION).

IF DIAGNOSIS LEADS TO THIS CONDITION, REPLACE THE PIVOT AND (PULSE- DIMMER) SWITCH ASSEMBLY, P/N 26049554. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS IN SECTION 3F5A OF THE 1995 W CAR SERVICE MANUAL.
