- Install the expansion plugs.
- Install the camshaft position sensor.
- Install the camshaft position sensor retaining bolt.
- Install the crankshaft position sensor.
- Install the crankshaft position sensor bolt.
- Apply sealer GM P/N 12346004 or equivalent to the thread of the knock sensor.
- Install the knock sensor.
- Install the oil gallery plugs.
- Install the left coolant drain plug.
- Install the right side coolant drain plug.
- Install the oil filter fitting.
- Install the oil filter.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

Tighten the bolt to 11 N·m (97 lb in).
Tighten
Tighten the knock sensor to 19 N·m (14 lb ft).
Tighten
| • | Tighten the front oil gallery plug to 19 N·m (14 lb ft). |
| • | Tighten the rear upper oil gallery plugs to 19 N·m (14 lb ft). |
| • | Tighten the rear lower oil gallery plugs to 33 N·m (24 lb ft). |
Tighten
Tighten the coolant drain plug to 19 N·m (14 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the coolant drain plug to 19 N·m (14 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the fitting to 39 N·m (29 lb ft).
Tighten
Tighten the oil filter to 13 N·m (115 lb in).
