Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery ground (negative) cable. Refer to

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

    in General Information.
  2. Remove the air cleaner duct. Refer to Engine Controls.
  3. Remove the engine mount struts. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .
  4. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to General Information.
  5. Remove the three way catalytic converter pipe from the right (rear) exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust System.
  6. Remove the right front wheel and tire. Refer to Tires and Wheels.
  7. Remove the right engine splash shield. Refer to Body Front End.

  9. Remove the lower engine mount nuts.
  10. Notice: In order to avoid oil pan damage and possible engine failure, insert a block of wood that spans the width of the oil pan bottom between the oil pan and the jack support.

  11. Raise the engine, using the floor jack stand with a block of wood.

  13. Remove the engine mount bracket to oil pan bolts.
  14. Remove the engine mount and the engine mount bracket.

  16. Remove the engine mount from the engine mount bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 96010  Size: SH
  1. Install the engine mount to the engine mount bracket.
  2. Install the engine mount to engine mount bracket nuts.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the engine mount bracket with the engine mount to the oil pan.
  5. Install the engine mount bracket bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 58 N·m (43 lb ft).

  7. Lower the engine, using the floor jack stand.

  8. Object Number: 96002  Size: SH
  9. Install the lower engine mount nuts.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 43 N·m (32 lb ft).

  11. Install the right engine splash shield. Refer to Body Front End.
  12. Install the right front wheel and tire. Refer to Tires and Wheels.
  13. Connect the three way catalytic converter pipe to the right (rear) exhaust manifold. Refer to Exhaust System.
  14. Lower the vehicle.
  15. Install the engine mount struts. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .
  16. Install the air cleaner duct. Refer to Engine Controls.
  17. Connect the battery ground (negative) cable. Refer to Battery.
