CREAK NOISE FROM DOOR GLASS WHEN DRIVING OVER BUMPY ROADS

SUBJECT: CREAK NOISE FROM DOOR GLASS WHEN DRIVING OVER BUMPY ROADS (LUBE WINDOW REGULATOR)

MODELS: 1997-98 BUICK CENTURY, REGAL 1998 OLDSMOBILE INTRIGUE 1997-98 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX (SEDAN ONLY)

CONDITION:

SOME OWNERS MAY COMMENT THAT A CREAK TYPE NOISE COMES FROM THE SIDE DOOR GLASS WHILE DRIVING OVER BUMPY ROADS. THIS NOISE IS USUALLY HEARD WHEN THE DOOR GLASS IS PARTIALLY OPEN TO ALMOST FULL DOWN.

CAUSE:

CONDITION MAY BE DUE TO A LACK OF LUBE ON THE BACK SIDE OF THE WINDOW REGULATOR.

CORRECTION:

LUBE BACK SIDE OF THE WINDOW REGULATOR WITH SILICONE PASTE OR GREASE (SEE BELOW) IN THE AREA SHOWN (SEE FIGURE 1).
