Did you perform the instrument cluster diagnostic system check?

Connect a scan tool and test for powertrain control module (PCM) DTCs. Refer to Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check (RPO 3.1L) or Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check (RPO 3.8L) in Engine Controls

Is the action complete?

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position with the engine off.
  2. Press and hold the odometer trip reset button for approximately 12 seconds.

Does the change oil indicator flash twice and then turn off?

Go to Step 4

Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

Does the change oil indicator illuminate for approximately 60 seconds and then turn off?

--

Go to Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check (RPO 3.1L) or Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check (RPO 3.8L) in Engine Controls

Go to Step 5

  1. Connect a scan tool to the vehicle data link connector (DLC).
  2. WOW the instrument cluster ON.
  3. WOW the instrument cluster OFF.

Does the change oil indicator turn off?

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Instrument Cluster

Go to Step 6

Replace the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .

Is the repair complete?
