  1. Remove the key from the ignition key lock cylinder.
  2. Close all of the vehicle doors.
  3. Observe the door locks and press the following buttons on the driver door switch:
  4. • The LOCK button
    • The UNLOCK button
  5. Observe the door locks and press the following buttons on the passenger door switch:
  6. • The LOCK button
    • The UNLOCK button

Do all of the doors lock and unlock with either door lock switch?

Complete the following steps in order to resynchronize the transmitter:

  1. Press and hold the LOCK button for at least 7 seconds , one transmitter at a time.
  2. Verify that the key is removed from the ignition cylinder lock.
  3. Close all of the vehicle doors.
  4. Observe the door locks and press the LOCK button 1 time.
  5. Observe the door locks and press the UNLOCK button 2 times.
  6. Observe the rear compartment lid and press the REAR COMPARTMENT button 1 time.
  7. Observe the headlamps and the horn and press the ALARM button.

Does the keyless entry system operate the door lock, the rear compartment lid, and the alarm?

  1. Remove the transmitter batteries.
  2. Use a DMM in order to measure the voltage on each of the transmitter batteries.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

3-3.5 V

  1. Reprogram all of the transmitters. Refer to Transmitter Programming
  2. Verify that the key is removed from the ignition cylinder lock.
  3. Close all of the vehicle doors.
  4. Observe the door locks and press the LOCK button 1 time.
  5. Observe the door locks and press the UNLOCK button 2 times.
  6. Observe the rear compartment lid and press the REAR COMPARTMENT button 1 time, while observing the rear compartment lid.
  7. Observe the headlamps and the horn and press the ALARM button.

Does the keyless entry system operate the door lock, the rear compartment lid, and the alarm?

  1. Program an operational transmitter. Refer to Transmitter Programming
  2. Ensure that the key has been removed from the ignition cylinder lock.
  3. Close all of the vehicle doors.
  4. Observe the door locks and press the LOCK button 1 time.
  5. Observe the door locks and press the UNLOCK button 2 times.
  6. Observe the rear compartment lid and press the REAR COMPARTMENT button 1 time.
  7. Observe the headlamps and the horn and press the ALARM button.

Does the keyless entry system operate the door lock, the rear compartment lid, and the alarm?

  1. Disconnect the remote control lock receiver (RCDLR).
  2. Use a test light in order to connect between the RCDLR harness connector terminals A and C.

Inspect the RADIO-HVAC fuse.

Is the RADIO-HVAC fuse open?

Repair the short to ground in CKT 640.

Use a test light in order to connect between the RCDLR harness connector terminal C and ground.

Repair a poor connection or open in circuit 640 between the fuse block and S202.

  1. Inspect for a poor connector terminal contact at the RCDLR.
  2. If OK, replace the RCDLR. Refer to Remote Control Door Lock Receiver Replacement .

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Reconnect all of the connectors.
  3. Install all of the components that you removed.
