Method 1-No Tool Required
Important: If the ignition switch is moved to the OFF position or any vehicle door
is opened during this procedure, the remote unlock verification customization
will be terminated and the system will remain in the most recent mode.
- Sit in the vehicle driver's seat.
- Close all the vehicle doors.
- Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
- Press and HOLD the door LOCK switch to the UNLOCK position.
- Press the transmitter UNLOCK button.
The chime will bong one to four times, equal to the current customization
mode, to indicate which mode the vehicle is in. Each additional time the
transmitter UNLOCK button is pressed, the mode number will advance. A transition
past mode four will repeat starting again at mode one.
- Release the door LOCK switch from the UNLOCK position when the
desired mode has been indicated by the chime.
- Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.

Method 2-Scan Tool Required
The following procedure describes how to customize the remote unlock
verification feature using the Tech 2®. This procedure may also be accomplished
by using an equivalent scan tool.
- Connect the scan tool to an applicable power sourceand the Data
Link Connector (DLC).
- Turn the ingition switch to the ON position.
- At the APPlication Menu screen, select the F5 (personalization).
- At the Personalization Main Menu screen, select the F0 (set options).
- At the Set Options Main Menu screen, select the F2 (verify unlock
mode).
- After reading the Setting Options screen, select Done.
- At the Set Options screen, use the up and down arrow buttons to
move the highlighter to the desired option (mode).
- Select the Active Options, then select the Save Opitions.
- Press the Exit repeatedly until the Application Menu screan is
viewed.
- Disconnect the scan tool from the accessory power port and the
vehicle Data Link Connector (DLC).
- Validate that the option (mode) selected was activated by operating
that system.
