Removal Procedure
- Turn OFF the ignition.
- Remove the right front fender liner.
- Remove the washer solvent container.
- Disconnect the fuel pump
resistor electrical connector (2).
- Carefully remove the fuel pump resistor pigtail from the chassis.
- Remove the fuel pump resistor attaching bolt (4).
- Remove the fuel pump resistor (3).
Installation Procedure
- Install the fuel pump
resistor epoxyed side onto the chassis.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the fuel
pump resistor bolt (4).
Tighten
Tighten the fuel pump resistor bolt to 5.0 N·m (44 lb in).
- Secure the pigtail along the chassis.
- Reconnect the fuel pump electrical connector (2).
- Install the washer solvent container. Refer to
Windshield Washer Solvent Container Replacement
in Wipers and Washers.
- Install the right front fender liner. Refer to
Front Fender Liner Replacement
in Body Front End.
