🢒 Enabling the SIR System
Important:
Perform steps 2-4 if the vehicle is equipped with a driver side air bag.
Remove the key from the ignition switch.
Move the driver seat back as far as possible to gain access to the driver side air bag yellow 2-way connector located under the driver seat.
Connect the driver side air bag yellow 2-way connector.
Install the CPA to the driver side air bag yellow 2-way connector.
Connect the passenger yellow 2-way connector located to the right of the steering column.
Install the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) to the passenger yellow 2-way connector located to the right of the steering column.
Connect the driver yellow 2-way connector located at the base of the steering column.
Install the Connector Position Assurance (CPA) to the driver yellow 2-way connector located at the base of the steering column.
Install the left instrument panel insulator. Refer to
Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement
in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
Install the AIR BAG fuse on the fuse block.
Install the IP fuse block access door.
Staying well away from both air bags, turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
12.1.
The AIR BAG warning lamp will flash seven times.
12.2.
The AIR BAG warning lamp will then turn OFF.
Perform the
A Diagnostic System Check - SIR
if the AIR BAG warning lamp does not operate as described.
