Notice: When adding fluid or making a complete fluid change, always use the proper fluid. Failure to use the proper fluid will cause hose and seal damage and fluid leaks. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Recommendations in this section.

  • Clean the power steering reservoir and cap before removing the cap.
  •    • 
  • Remove the power steering reservoir cap.
  •    • 
  • There is a power steering fluid level indicator attached to the power steering fluid reservoir cap. The marks on the power steering fluid level indicator, indicate the power steering fluid level.
  •    • 
  • Inspect the power steering fluid level on the indicator,the power steering fluid must be at the COLD mark. Add fluid to the power steering reservoir to bring the level to the COLD mark.
  •    • 
  • Install the cap onto the power steering reservoir.
  •    • 
  • Start the engine and allow the engine to warm to proper operating temperature.
  •    • 
  • Turn the engine off.
  •    • 
  • Inspect the power steering fluid reservoir level.
  •    • 
  • The power steering fluid should be between the COLD and HOT marks on indicator.
  •    • 
  • If the level is not between the COLD and HOT marks on indicator add power steering fluid to the reservoir and recheck the level until it is between the COLD and HOT marks on indicator.
