The lock bolt is restricted.

1. Inspect the lock bolt.
2. Service the lock bolt as needed. Refer to Steering Column Tilt Head Housing - Disassemble - Off Vehicle or Steering Column Tilt Head Housing - Assemble - Off Vehicle .

The following components are damaged:

1. Inspect the components.
2. Replace the components as needed. Refer to Ignition Lock Cylinder Replacement - On Vehicle .

The ignition switch is stuck.

1. Inspect the switch.
2. Replace the components as needed. Refer to Ignition Switch Replacement - On Vehicle .

The shift linkage is maladjusted.

1. Inspect the linkage.
2. Service the components as needed. Refer to Range Selector Lever Cable Adjustment .

The lock bolt spring is broken or worn.

1. Inspect the spring.
2. Replace the components as necessary. Refer to Steering Column Tilt Head Housing - Disassemble - Off Vehicle or Steering Column Tilt Head Housing - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
