Did you perform the Instrument Cluster Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Connect a scan tool.
  2. While observing the status of the reset switch press the FEIC Reset switch.

Does the FEIC Reset data change from OFF to ON?

Go to Step 3

  1. Drive the vehicle.
  2. Place the DIC display in Average Fuel Economy.
  3. Press the FEIC Reset switch.

Does the display reset?

--

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Instrument Cluster

Go to Step 10

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect the DIC display switch assembly.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  4. Using a DMM, test for voltage at terminal 1 circuit 1816 (ORN).

Is the measured voltage the same as the specified value?

B+

Go to Step 5

Using a DMM, test terminal 2 circuit 1550 (BLK) for an open.

Is circuit 1550 open?

Go to Step 8

  1. Using scan tool, read FEIC Reset.
  2. Using a fused 3-amp jumper wire, jumper terminals 1 and 2 of the DIC switch harness connector.

Does the FEIC Reset data change from off to on?

Go to Step 9

Repair open or poor connection in circuit 1816 (ORN).

Did you complete the repair and test the system?

--

Repair open or loose terminal in circuit 1550 (BLK).

Did you complete the repair and test the system?

Replace the DIC switch assembly.

Did you complete the repair and test the system?

Replace the IP cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
