Transmitter Programming Procedure

In the event that a transmitter is lost, program the old and the new transmitters into the memory of the remote control door lock receiver. Up to 4 transmitters may be programmed.

Important: Once the keyless entry receiver enters the programming/diagnostic mode, the programming of the first transmitter erases all previous transmitter programming information. You must then program all of the transmitters.

Program only 1 vehicle remote control door lock receiver at a time. If you program multiple receivers simultaneously, the same transmitter may possibly be programmed to more than 1 remote control door lock receiver.

The following procedure describes how to program the remote control door lock transmitters to the remote control door lock receiver using the Tech 2®.

  1. Connect the scan tool to the following components:
  2. • An applicable power source
    • The vehicle data link connector (DLC)
  3. Turn the ignition ON.
  4. At the application menu screen, select F0 (body control module).
  5. At the body control module screen, select F2 (special functions).
  6. At the special functions menu screen, select F3 (program key fobs).
  7. Follow the directions on the scan tool display in order to program the transmitters.

  10. • The accessory power port
