Does the system operate normally?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
  2. Disconnect the RAP relay.
  3. Inspect the power windows, the radio, and the sunroof for correct operation.

Do the sunroof, the radio, and the power windows operate?

Repair the short to battery in the power windows, radio, and sunroof feed circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

  1. Open one of the car doors.
  2. Remove the ignition key.
  3. Using a test lamp connected to a battery, probe the RAP relay control circuit.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Replace the RAP relay.

Did you complete the repair?

Test the RAP relay control circuit for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

  1. Replace the body control module. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.
  2. Perform the set up procedure for the new body control module. Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Body Control System.
