Squeaks and rattles are caused by improperly controlled
relative motion between components. The following three methods are used to
prevent squeaks or rattles:
• | Attach the components securely in order to eliminate any relative
motion during operation. |
• | Separate the components in order to prevent contact during vehicle
operation. |
• | Insulate the components in order to prevent squeaks or rattles
that are caused by relative motion between the components. |
| Low uniform friction surfaces can be provided in order to eliminate
stickslip motion. |
