Removal Procedure
Important: The sunroof actuator can be replaced with the glass in any position.
It contains no limit switches and its drive shaft turns in both directions.
- Remove the headliner. Refer to
Headlining Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior Trim.
- Remove the tie strap from
the wiring harness.
- Remove the screws retaining the sunroof actuator (1).
- Disconnect the sunroof
actuator harness from the express module harness.
- Pull the actuator straight down to disengage the drive gear.
- Remove the actuator from the sunroof.
Installation Procedure
- Position the actuator (1)
to the sunroof.
- Push the actuator straight in. This will engage the drive gear
into the position encoding system module.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the sunroof
actuator retaining screws.
Tighten
Tighten the sunroof actuator screws to 3 N·m (27 lb in).
- Connect the sunroof actuator
harness to the express module harness.
- Install the tie strap to the wiring harness.
- Check the operation of the sunroof to all positions.
- Install the headliner. Refer to
Headlining Trim Panel Replacement
in Interior Trim.
