  1. Using a test light, backprobe between the driver/passenger seat adjuster motor assembly connector C2 terminal A and ground.
  2. Press and hold the back end of the driver/passenger seat adjuster switch in the DOWN position.

Does the test light illuminate?

  1. Using a test light, backprobe between the driver/passenger seat adjuster motor assembly connector C2 terminal B and ground.
  2. Press and hold the back end of the driver/passenger seat adjuster switch in the UP position.

Does the test light illuminate?

Inspect for a poor connection or an open in circuit 283 between the driver/passenger seat adjuster switch terminal B and the driver/passenger seat adjuster motor assembly connector C2 terminal A.

Is there a poor connection or an open in circuit 283?

Locate repair the poor connection or an open in circuit 283 Refer to Circuit Testing in wiring systems.

Has the repair been completed ?

--

Go to Step 12

Replace the driver/passenger seat adjuster switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement .

Has the repair been completed ?

  1. Using a test light backprobe between the driver/passenger seat adjuster motor assembly connector C2 terminals A and B.
  2. Press and hold the rear end of the driver/passenger seat adjuster switch in the UP and then DOWN positions.

Does the test light illuminate in both directions?

Inspect for a poor connection or an open in circuit 282 between the driver/passenger seat adjuster switch terminal C and the driver/passenger seat adjuster motor assembly connector C2 terminal B.

Is there a poor connection or an open in circuit 282?

Locate repair the poor connection or an open in circuit 282 Refer to Circuit Testing in wiring systems.

Has the repair been completed ?

Go to Step 12

Inspect for a poor connection or an open in the driver/passenger seat adjuster motor assembly connector C2 terminals A and B.

Is there a poor connection or an open in either terminal?

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 11

Repair the poor connection or an open at the driver seat adjuster motor connector C2 terminal A or B. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Has the repair been completed?

Go to Step 12

Replace the driver seat adjuster motor assembly. Refer to Seat Adjuster Motor Replacement - Power .
