Removal Procedure
- Open the rear compartment.
- Pull back rear compartment trim panel.
- Open the fuel filler door.
- Remove the nut from the
fuel filler door actuator cable.
- Remove the fuel filler door actuator cable from the fuel filler
pocket.
- Remove the fuel filler
door actuator cable from the hole in the wheelhouse.
- Remove the bolt from the fuel filler actuator bracket.
- Remove the fuel filler actuator from the bracket.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel filler actuator.
- Remove the fuel filler door actuator cable from the actuator.
Installation Procedure
- Install the fuel filler
door actuator cable to the actuator.
- Connect the electrical connector to the fuel filler actuator.
- Position the fuel filler door actuator tabs through the holes
in bracket on the wheelhouse.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bolt to the fuel filler actuator bracket.
Tighten
Tighten the fuel filler door actuator bolt to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
- Insert the fuel filler door actuator cable through the wheelhouse
and fuel filler pocket until the grommet is fully seated.
- Install the nut to the
fuel filler door actuator cable.
Tighten
Tighten the fuel filler door actuator nut to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Close the fuel filler door.
- Reposition the rear compartment trim panel.
- Close the rear compartment.
