Circuit Description

The Body Control Module (BCM) is connected to the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver by the communication circuit. This circuit is the Serial data link for communication between the two modules.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

    • The BCM detects a short to ground in the communication circuit.
    • The condition above must be present for more than 0.3 seconds.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The BCM stores DTC B3102 in memory.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

    • A current DTC B3102 will clear if the short to ground in the communication circuit is no longer detected by the BCM.
    • A history DTC B3102 will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles if the condition for the malfunction is no longer present.
    • A scan tool may be used to clear the DTC.

Test Description

The number(s) below refer to the step number(s) on the diagnostic table.

  1. This step checks to see if the System Check was done.

  2. This step checks to see if the steady state circuit is at B+.
