Modes of Operation

Automatic Door Locks

The following are the modes of operation for the automatic door locks feature:

    • Mode 1:
        The automatic door locks feature is disabled.
    • Mode 2:
        All of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK with the ignition ON.
    • Mode 3: Default
        All of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK with the ignition ON. All of the doors unlock when the vehicle is shifted into PARK.
    • Mode 4:
        All of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK with the ignition ON. Only the driver door unlocks when the vehicle is shifted into PARK.

Delayed Locking

The following are the modes of operation for the delayed locking feature:

    • Mode 1:
        All of the doors lock 5 seconds after the last door is closed when the lock switch is activated.
    • Mode 2: Default
        The delayed locking feature is disabled.

Perimeter Lighting

The following are the modes of operation for the perimeter lighting feature:

    • Mode 1:
        The perimeter lighting feature is disabled.
    • Mode default
        The perimeter lighting feature is enabled.

Remote Activation Verification

The following are the modes of operation for the remote activation verification feature:

    • Mode 1: Default
        The remote activation verification feature is disabled.
    • Mode 2:
        The horn chirps when the LOCK button or the UNLOCK button on the keyless entry transmitter is pressed.
    • Mode 3:
        The exterior lamps flash when the LOCK button or the UNLOCK button on the keyless entry transmitter is pressed.
    • Mode 4:
        The exterior lamps flash and the horn chirps when either the UNLOCK button or the LOCK button on the keyless entry transmitter is pressed.

Programming Features

Enter Programming

To determine which programmable mode the vehicle is programmed to or to program the vehicle to a different mode, perform the following actions:

  1. Turn the ignition to RUN.
  2. Close all of the doors.
  3. Apply the brakes.

Important: During this procedure, the automatic door Lock and Unlock functions will operate as defined by each mode listed previously, providing the driver with feedback of the current operating mode. If cycled beyond Mode 4, the vehicle will enter operating Mode 1. When the door lock switch is released, the vehicle will remain in the most recent operating mode.

Automatic Door Locks

Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the automatic door locks:

  1. Press and hold the driver side power door lock switch.
  2. Shift the transmission out of PARK and then back into PARK.
  3. The vehicle will remain in the current mode and react according to the current mode settings (see Automatic Door Lock modes above).

  4. Cycle the transmission again in order to advance to the next mode. Again the vehicle will react according to the mode settings.
  5. Continue to cycle the transmission until the desired mode is reached.

Delayed Headlamp Illumination

Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the delayed headlamp illumination feature:

  1. Press the driver side power door lock switch.
  2. Cycle the headlamps ON twice and then back OFF.
  3. Release the driver side power door lock switch.
  4. Press the driver side power door unlock switch.
  5. Cycle the headlamps ON twice and then back OFF.
  6. Release the driver side power door unlock switch.
  7. The chime will sound once if the delayed headlamp illumination feature is disabled. The chime will sound twice if the delayed headlamp illumination feature is enabled.

Delayed Locking

Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the delayed locking feature:

  1. Press and hold the driver side power door unlock switch.
  2. Shift the transmission out of PARK and then back into PARK. The chime will sound a number of times equivalent to the mode number.
  3. Cycle the transmission again in order to advance to the next mode. Again the chime will sound a number of times equivalent to the mode number.
  4. Continue to cycle the transmission until the desired mode is reached.

Perimeter Lighting

Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the perimeter lighting feature:

  1. Press and hold the driver side power door lock switch.
  2. Press the PANIC button on the desired transmitter.
  3. The vehicle will remain in the current mode. The chime will sound a number of times equivalent to the mode number.

  4. Press the PANIC button on the desired transmitter again in order to advance to the next mode. Again the chime will sound a number of times equivalent to the mode number.
  5. Continue to press the PANIC button on the desired transmitter until the desired mode is reached.

Remote Activation Verification

Continue with the following steps in order to personalize the remote activation verification feature:

  1. Press and hold the driver side power door unlock switch to personalize the remote unlock verification.
  2. Press the UNLOCK button on the desired transmitter.
  3. The vehicle will remain in the current mode. The chime will sound a number of times equivalent to the mode number.

  4. Press the UNLOCK button on the desired transmitter again in order to advance to the next mode. Again the chime will sound a number of times equivalent to the mode number.
  5. Continue to press the UNLOCK button on the desired transmitter until the desired mode is reached.
  6. Press and hold the driver side power door lock switch to personalize the remote lock verification.
  7. Press the LOCK button on the desired transmitter.
  8. The vehicle will remain in the current mode. The chime will sound a number of times equivalent to the mode number.

  9. Press the LOCK button on the desired transmitter again in order to advance to the next mode. Again the chime will sound a number of times equivalent to the mode number.
  10. Continue to press the LOCK button on the desired transmitter until the desired mode is reached.

Exit Programming

The following list of events will cause the programming sequence to be terminated:

    • The ignition is moved from the RUN position.
    • A door is opened.

Programming Features with the Tech 2

To enter programming with the Tech 2 , perform the following actions:

  1. Install the scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
  3. Select the correct vehicle and model year.
  4. Select Body.
  5. Select Personalization.

Automatic Door Locks

Continue with the following steps in order to program the automatic door locks feature:

  1. Select Set Options.
  2. Select F0 for ADL (Auto Door Locks)
  3. Highlight the desired mode from the following choices (see Automatic Door Lock modes above for mode descriptions):
  4. • Mode 1: NO ADL.
    • Mode 2: ADL out of PARK, NO unlock.
    • Mode 3: ADL out of PARK, Unlock into PARK.
    • Mode 4: ADL out of PARK, Unlock driver door ONLY.
  5. Press the ENTER button to turn the mode ON or OFF. (You must turn the current mode OFF before you can turn another one ON.)
  6. Select Save Options.
  7. Exit the menu.

Last Door Closed Locking Mode

Continue with the following steps in order to program the LDCL (Last Door Closed Locking) Mode feature:

  1. Select Set Options.
  2. Select F1 for Last Door Closed Locking Mode.
  3. Highlight the desired mode for the following choices:
  4. • LCDL Disabled.
    • LCDL Enabled.
  5. Press the ENTER button to turn the mode ON or OFF. (You must turn the current mode OFF before you can turn another one ON.)
  6. Select Save Options.
  7. Exit the menu.

Remote Unlock Verification Mode

Continue with the following steps in order to program the Remote Unlock Verification Mode:

  1. Select Set Options.
  2. Select F2 for Remote Unlock Verification Mode.
  3. Highlight the desired mode for the following choices:
  4. • NO Unlock Verification
    • Horn Only
    • DRL Only
    • DRL and Horn
  5. Press the ENTER button to turn the mode ON or OFF. (You must turn the current mode OFF before you can turn another one ON.)
  6. Select Save Options.
  7. Exit the menu.

Remote Lock Verification Mode

Continue with the following steps in order to program the Remote Lock Verification Mode:

  1. Select Set Options.
  2. Select F3 for Remote Lock Verification Mode.
  3. Highlight the desired mode for the following choices:
  4. • No Lock Verification
    • Horn Only
    • DRL Only
    • DRL and Horn
  5. Press the ENTER button to turn the mode ON or OFF. (You must turn the current mode OFF before you can turn another one ON.)
  6. Select Save Options.
  7. Exit the menu.

Delayed Headlamp Illumination Mode

Continue with the following steps in order to program the Delayed Headlamp Illumination Mode:

  1. Select Set Options.
  2. Select F4 for Delayed Headlamp Illumination Mode.
  3. Highlight the desired mode for the following choices:
  4. • Delayed Headlamps DISABLED
    • Delayed Headlamps ENABLED
  5. Press the ENTER button to turn the mode ON or OFF. (You must turn the current mode OFF before you can turn another one ON.)
  6. Select Save Options.
  7. Exit the menu.

Perimeter Lighting

Continue with the following steps in order to program the Perimeter Lighting Mode:

  1. Select Set Options.
  2. Select F5 for Delayed Headlamp Illumination Mode.
  3. Highlight the desired mode for the following choices:
  4. • Perimeter Lighting DISABLED
    • Perimeter Lighting ENABLED
  5. Press the ENTER button to turn the mode ON or OFF. (You must turn the current mode OFF before you can turn another one ON.)
  6. Select Save Options.
  7. Exit the menu.

Trap Alert System

Continue with the following steps in order to program the Trap Alert System:

  1. Select Set Options.
  2. Select F6 for Trap Alert System.
  3. Highlight the desired mode for the following choices:
  4. ENABLE Trap Alert System
  5. Press the ENTER button to turn the mode ON or OFF. (You must turn the current mode OFF before you can turn another one ON.)
  6. Select Save Options.
  7. Exit the menu.
