- Position the I/P assembly to the vehicle.
- Position the wiring harness to the I/P assembly.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bolts to the upper I/P trim pad.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).
- Install the bolts to the left end of the I/P trim pad.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
- Install the bolts to the center and to the lower I/P assembly.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).
- Install the bolts to the right end of the I/P assembly.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
- Align the fuse block to the cross vehicle beam and install the fuse block securing the locking tab.
- Connect the electrical connector to the I/P assembly compartment lamp.
- Install the compartment lamp into the I/P.
- Install the I/P compartment. Refer to

- Install the HVAC control assembly. Refer to
Heater and Air Conditioning Control Replacement

- Install the radio. Refer to
Radio Replacement
in Entertainment.
- Install the I/P cluster. Refer to
Instrument Cluster Replacement
.
- Install the headlamp switch. Refer to
Headlamp Switch Replacement
in Lighting Systems.
- Install the inside air temperature sensor, if equipped. Refer to
Inside Air Temperature Sensor Replacement
in HVAC Systems - Automatic.
- Install the I/P cluster trim plate. Refer to
Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement
.
- Install the I/P accessory trim plate. Refer to
Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement
.
- Install the front carpet retainers. Refer to
Front Carpet Retainer Replacement
in Interior Trim.
- Connect the data link connector (DLC) to the I/P and install the bolts .
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Install the hood latch release handle. Refer to
Hood Primary Latch Release Cable Handle Replacement
in Body Front End.
- Install the steering column. Refer to
Steering Column Replacement
in Steering Wheel and Column.
- Install the knee bolster to the I/P. Refer to
Knee Bolster Replacement

- Install the steering column filler. Refer to
Steering Column Opening Filler Replacement
.
- Install the left and the right I/P insulators. Refer to
Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side

- Install the front floor console, if equipped. Refer to

- Install the upper trim panel. Refer to

- Install the upper garnish moldings to the windshield pillar. Refer to

- Enable the SIR system. Refer to

- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
