For equivalent regional tools, refer to Special Tools.
Note: BO-47652 special toolkit is used for adjusting the contact angle between the wiper blades and the windscreen in all models. An incorrect contact angle between the wiper blades and the windscreen causes the wiper blades to rattle. This also results in the cleaning of the windscreen not being as good as it should be.
Item number | Designation | Area of use |
---|---|---|
BO-47652 | Special Toolkit | |
1 | BO-47652-20 | Adapter for wiper connection from above (e.g. Zafira-B) |
2 | BO-47652-10 | Adapter for wiper connection at the side (e.g. Astra-H) |
3 | BO-47652-30 | Lever |
4 | BO-47652-40 | Measuring Instrument |
5 | BO-47652-100 | Alternative Set |
• | Move wiper arm to upper reversing position. |
Note: See relevant operating instructions. |
• | Push wiper arms downwards within 4 seconds of switching off ignition. Release wiper arms as soon as the wipers are vertical at the reversing point. |
• | Detach wiper blade. |
• | Attach BO-47652-40 measuring instrument to the wiper arm (1) (see figure I). |
• | Raise wiper arm (1) and pull carefully to the edge of the windscreen (2) and check whether the reversing position has been reached (see figure II). |
• | Measure contact angle at the reversing position. |
• | Note result of measurement. |
• | Detach BO-47652-40 measuring instrument and attach wiper blade. |
• | Move wiper arm to park position. |
• | Detach wiper blade. |
• | Attach BO-47652-40 measuring instrument to the wiper arm. |
• | Lift wiper arm in the direction of the arrow and lower again to guarantee that the wiper arm is on the windscreen when in park position. |
• | Measure contact angle in park position. |
• | Note result of measurement. |
• | I Shows the measured value for the wiper arm in the park position. |
• | II Shows the measured value for the wiper arm at the upper reversing point. |
Example: | |
---|---|
measured value at reversing position | 6.5 |
measured value in park position | -3.0 |
value read off from the table | -5.0 |
This means that the wiper arm is to be limited to -5.0 in the park position.
Note: In vehicles in which the wiper systems run in opposite directions (e.g. Meriva or Zafira), the value for the left wiper arm is to be read off for LHD and for the right wiper arm for RHD vehicles.
Restrict wiper arm in park position with BO-47652-100 alternative set .
Note: When replacing the BO-47652-100 alternative set , the metal adhesive 93165228 / 1500004 should be used.
Note: Otherwise the procedure does not differ for the Astra-H and Zafira-B from the mode of procedure described above.
