DTC Descriptor

DTC B1015 00: Vehicle Identification Number Information Malfunction

Circuit/System Description

When the ignition is turned ON, the object alarm module receives the vehicle identification number (VIN) from the body control module (BCM). The object alarm module will compare the VIN received to the VIN stored in memory.

Conditions for Running the DTC

Ignition voltage is between 9-16 V.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

The VIN stored in the object alarm module does not match the received VIN.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

    • The parking assist is disabled.
    • The parking assist indicator in the instrument panel cluster will be activated.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

The VIN stored in the object alarm module matches the VIN stored in the BCM.

Circuit/System Verification

  1. Ignition ON, program the K41 Object Alarm Module and verify the DTC does not reset.
  2. If the DTC is reset, replace the K41 Object Alarm Module
