Preliminary Procedures
- With the engine OFF, apply the brake pedal several times until the brake pedal becomes firm to deplete the vacuum brake booster vacuum reserve.
- Pull the brake pedal upwards to loosen (unsnap) from the brake arm.
- Remove the brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir, using a suitable suction device.
- Disconnect the brake fluid level sensor electrical connector.
- Remove the master cylinder. Refer to
Master Cylinder Replacement.
- Remove the electronic brake control assembly. Refer to
Electronic Brake Control Module Replacement.

| Vacuum Check Valve
Tip If necessary, a small amount of denatured alcohol can be used as an assembly aid for installing the check valve to the vacuum brake booster grommet. DO NOT use soap. |

| Power Vacuum Brake Booster Bolt (Qty: 2)
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
Tighten 19 N·m (14 lb ft) |

| Power Vacuum Brake Booster
Procedure
- If equipped, calibrate the brake pedal position sensor. Refer to
Brake Pedal Position Sensor Calibration.
- Install NEW click fit connector on brake pedal arm, in any case the connection brake pedal to booster pushrod is disconnected.
