1. Power Door Latch Malfunction | ||||
Circuit/System Description
The left and right rear exterior door handle switch signal circuits provide inputs to the remote control door lock receiver when the rear exterior door handle switches are activated. These inputs allow the remote control door lock receiver to detect a rear door open request. The remote control door lock receiver provides voltage to each rear exterior door handle switch via the left and right rear door handle switch signal circuits. When a rear door handle is activated, the switch closes and the voltage signals from the remote control door lock receiver are pulled to ground.
Conditions for Running the DTC
Battery voltage is between 9-16 volts.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
B1534 02
The remote control door lock receiver detects the left rear exterior door handle switch signal circuit is shorted to ground or closed for more than 180 seconds.
B1535 02
The remote control door lock receiver detects the right rear exterior door handle switch signal circuit is shorted to ground or closed for more than 180 seconds.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
The remote control door lock receiver ignores inputs from the rear exterior door handle switches.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
| • | The DTC will be current for as long as the fault is present. |
| • | When the fault is no longer present, the DTC will be a history DTC. |
| • | A history DTC will clear after 50 ignition cycles. |

Circuit/System Verification
Ignition ON, observe the scan tool Exterior Left Rear Door Handle Switch or Exterior Right Rear Door Handle Switch parameter while using the rear door handle. The parameter should change between Active and Inactive.
Circuit/System Testing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the B27LR Door Handle Switch - Left Rear or B27RR Door Handle Switch - Right Rear.
- Ignition ON, verify the following scan tool parameter is Inactive:
- Connect the a 3 A jumper harness between the signal circuit terminal 2 and ground. Verify the following scan tool parameter is Active.
- If all circuits test normal, test or replace the B27LR Door Handle Switch - Left Rear or B27RR Door Handle Switch - Right Rear.

| ⇒ | If not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal 2 for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K77 Remote Control Door Lock Receiver. |

| ⇒ | If not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal 2 for a open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K77 Remote Control Door Lock Receiver. |
Component Testing
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the B27LR Door Handle Switch - Left Rear or B27RR Door Handle Switch - Right Rear.
- With the switch in the open position, test for infinite resistance between the signal terminal 2 and the ground terminal 1.
- With the switch in the closed position, test for less than 1 Ω between the signal terminal 2 and the ground terminal 1
| ⇒ | If not the specified value, replace the B27LR Door Handle Switch - Left Rear or B27RR Door Handle Switch - Right Rear. |
| ⇒ | If greater than the specified range, replace the B27LR Door Handle Switch - Left Rear or B27RR Door Handle Switch - Right Rear. |
