Removal Procedure
  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Suitably support the exhaust system.

    3. Object Number: 389538 Size: SH
  3. Remove the exhaust resonator or catalytic converter bolts.
  4. Remove the exhaust resonator or catalytic converter gasket.

    5. Object Number: 389589 Size: SH
  5. Remove the exhaust hanger insulators from the exhaust muffler with exhaust pipe and tail pipe.
  6. Remove the exhaust muffler with exhaust pipe and tail pipe.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 389589 Size: SH
  1. Install and suitably support the exhaust muffler with exhaust pipe and tail pipe.
  2. Install the exhaust hanger insulators to the exhaust muffler with exhaust pipe and tail pipe.

    3. Object Number: 389538 Size: SH
  3. Install the exhaust resonator or catalytic converter gasket.
  4. Install the exhaust resonator or catalytic converter bolts.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the exhaust resonator or catalytic converter bolts to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).

  5. Inspect the exhaust system for leaks and underbody contact.
  6. Remove the support from the exhaust system.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
