The exhaust muffler is used to reduce the noise levels of the engine exhaust by the use of baffles. The baffles in the muffler create channels inside the muffler that lower the sound levels created by the combustion of the engine. Two resonators or a catalytic converter and a resonator are mounted before the muffler to additionally help reduce noise levels. Exhaust system hangers support the weight of the exhaust muffler. The exhaust muffler is serviced as part of the exhaust muffler with exhaust pipe and tail pipe.
