1. Install the scan tool.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
3. Select display DTC function with the scan tool.
4. Test for any stored ABS DTCs related to brake warning indicator operation.

No DTCs are stored in memory or current status.

1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Remove the scan tool from the data link connector.
3. Release the parking brake.
4. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (engine OFF).

The brake warning indicator remains OFF.

1. Start the vehicle and allow the engine to idle in PARK.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.

The brake warning indicator remains OFF when the ignition switch is in the ON position or the START position.

1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
2. Set the parking brake.
3. Release the parking brake.

The brake warning indicator remains ON only when the parking brake is set.
