Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 294318 Size: SH
  1. Roll back the automatic transmission shift lever seal from the automatic transmission shift lever.
  2. Remove the bolt from the automatic transmission shift lever.
  3. Remove the automatic transmission shift lever from the steering column.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 294318 Size: SH
  1. Install the automatic transmission shift lever to the steering column.

    2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the bolt to the automatic transmission shift lever.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the automatic transmission shift lever bolt to 20 N·m (14 lb ft).

  3. Install the automatic transmission shift lever seal.
  4. Verify that there is a positive shift gate feel in all positions, after the lever is installed.
