Blower Motor Control Module Replacement CJ4

1. Remove the right side instrument panel insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement .



2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor control module.



3. Disconnect the blower motor control module electrical connector from the blower motor.




Important: The opening to the blower motor control module is slotted. Access to the blower motor control module opening is limited.

4. Loosen both of the forward screws.
5. Remove the rearward screw.

Important: Tilt down the rear of the blower motor control module.

6. Remove the blower control module.

Important: Align the blower motor control module forward retaining slots onto screws and seat against HVAC module.

1. Install the blower motor control module.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

2. Install the blower motor control module rearward screw.

Tighten
Tighten the blower motor control module screw to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).

3. Install the blower motor control module forward screws.

Tighten
Tighten the blower motor control module screws to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).




4. Connect the blower motor control module electrical connector to the blower motor.



5. Connect the electrical connector from the blower motor control module.
6. Install the right side instrument panel insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement .
